Print-friendly PDF help

Turn selected pages into grey or black-and-white pictures, lighten paper and adjust contrast. Review faint writing and stamps carefully: cleaning can remove meaningful detail. This does not guarantee printer ink savings.

How to use Print-friendly PDF
  1. Choose a PDF and, optionally, the pages to prepare.
  2. Choose resolution, paper lightening and contrast.
  3. Optionally choose black and white only or reduce small specks.
  4. Select Prepare PDF and compare the result before downloading or printing.
Options explained
Lighten paper and shadows
Removes yellow tint through grey conversion and brightens estimated paper shading.
Contrast
Makes dark and light areas more or less distinct.
Black and white only
Replaces grey with black or white. Adjust the cutoff to keep the writing you need.
Reduce small specks
Removes isolated tiny marks. It may also remove punctuation or faint details; compare carefully.

Are the original words changed?

Their visible pixels can change and faint marks can disappear. Text on prepared pages is no longer selectable, and links/comments lose interactivity there. Accessibility tags are removed from the new copy.

Does this perform OCR or compression?

No. It prepares page appearance. Use OCR PDF or Compress PDF separately.

Does print preparation remove hidden information?

No. Original hidden objects and metadata may remain. Use the appropriate security tool instead.

What about passwords and signatures?

Files that open without a password are unlocked locally. Opening-password files need Unlock PDF first. New signed copies require acknowledgement and have no valid original signature.
