Your documents are yours. Here is how localipdf handles your files and the information collected when you visit this website.
Your files stay on your device
PDFs, images and document passwords are processed in your browser. We do not upload them to a server for processing. We do not send document contents, filenames, passwords or signatures to our analytics service. Your original files are not changed.
What your browser remembers
Your browser saves your favourite tools, recently used tool names and colour theme on this device. If you choose Remember signature, it also saves that signature on this device until you choose Forget saved signature or clear this website’s stored data. Do not save a signature on a shared device.
When you refresh or close the page
Refreshing or closing the page clears your current work, including selected files, passwords and results you have not downloaded. Save your results first. Files you already downloaded remain on your device. Preferences and a signature you chose to remember remain saved until you remove them or clear this website’s stored data.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, page views and loading speed, and to improve the website. Reports may include the page visited, referring website, country, browser and device type. Cloudflare says this service does not use cookies or browser storage to track visitors, and does not track people across websites. These statistics describe use of the website, not the contents of your documents.
Website hosting and security
Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. When you visit, it receives normal connection information such as your IP address and browser information to deliver pages and help prevent abuse. This is separate from processing your PDFs, which happens on your device. Cloudflare handles hosting and analytics information under its own policies.
Cookies and saved settings
We do not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free. Your chosen preferences and any signature you ask us to remember are stored only in your browser. Your browser settings let you clear this website’s stored data. Blocking analytics does not stop the PDF tools from working.
Camera and downloads
Scan to PDF asks for camera access only when you choose to use the camera. Captured pages are processed on your device. You can turn off camera access in your browser settings. We do not receive copies of your downloaded results.
Your choices
You can use the tools without an account. You can clear your work, remove a remembered signature, clear saved website data or block analytics in your browser. We cannot recover files, passwords or unsaved work because we do not store your documents on our servers.
