Axis Bank e-statements open with an eight-character password: the first four letters of your name in capitals, followed by four digits of your date of birth. If that doesn't work, Axis gives a second option: the same four letters followed by your nine-digit Customer ID. If someone needs the statement without a password, save a copy with Unlock PDF on your own device.

Work out your password

Axis Bank explains both options on its support page about opening an e-statement. Take the name as it appears on your statement, and ignore spaces and full stops.

  1. Write the first four letters of your name in capitals. RAVI KUMAR gives RAVI. A.K. SHARMA gives AKSH, because the full stops and spaces are left out.
  2. Add four digits of your date of birth. Axis doesn't say which four, so try the day and month first, written as DDMM: 9 March becomes 0903 and the password is RAVI0903.
  3. If that fails, use the same four letters with your nine-digit Customer ID instead, such as RAVI123456789.

If neither option works

  • Try the birth date as the year instead (RAVI1990), since Axis only says "four digits of your date of birth".
  • Check the name exactly as it's printed on the statement, including middle names that come first.
  • Read the email the statement came with. It may state the password for that statement type.
  • If nothing works, contact Axis Bank. Unlock PDF can't open a statement without the right password.

Save a copy without the password

  1. Open Unlock PDF and choose your statement. It stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
  2. Type your password in PDF password.
  3. Select “I have permission to unlock these PDFs.”
  4. Click Unlock PDF, then download the copy.
  5. Open the new copy and check that every page is there.

Share the unlocked copy only with people who need it. Anyone who has it can read your transactions.

Put the transactions into a spreadsheet

Use PDF to Excel on the unlocked copy, then check the dates, amounts and number of entries against the original statement.

Questions

Are the letters in the Axis password capitals or lowercase?

Capitals. Axis Bank says to use four letters of your name in upper case, as it appears on your account statement.

Can I use my Customer ID instead of my date of birth?

Yes. Axis gives this as an alternative: the four capital letters of your name followed by your nine-digit Customer ID.

Does Unlock PDF keep a copy of my Axis statement?

No. It works in your browser on this device, so nothing is uploaded or stored by localipdf. You can check this yourself on the verify page.
