Options explained
Pages (leave blank for all)
Limit conversion to the chapters or pages needed in Word.
Word format
Editable text produces editable words and supported simple tables. Keep page appearance inserts page pictures instead.
Include original page pictures after the text
Adds a picture of each original page after its text. Turn it on to keep drawn charts and diagrams, or to compare the result with the original. It makes the Word file much larger.
Join wrapped text into paragraphs
Join ordinary prose lines for easier editing; leave off for forms or unusual layouts.
Process all files
Choose multiple inputs for pdf to word. This runs the settings above separately for each file, shows individual results and failures, and offers Cancel file, Cancel all files and Download batch as ZIP. Check that page positions or form fields suit every input.

PDF to word was tested on a 16 GB Mac with Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. “Did not complete” includes input limits, errors and test timeouts; try a smaller selection. These are observed examples, not guaranteed limits on your device. WebKit tests do not replace a check in Safari on your own device.

Up to 100 input files and 512 MB total; up to 200 output files or 512 MB. ZIPs over 128 MB need Chrome/Edge direct disk saving; use individual downloads in other browsers. The Workflow stress test completed 100 synthetic files in all three engines; this does not guarantee the same capacity for every conversion.

Questions

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

Editable text keeps extracted words and approximate formatting, but complex layouts can change. Some simple tables become Word tables. Page pictures retain the visible appearance, but text inside those pictures is not editable.

Can I convert a scanned PDF into editable text?

A scan without selectable text stays a picture in this converter. Run OCR first if you need recognized text, and check names, numbers and tables carefully. Recognition and layout reconstruction are not guaranteed.

What does joining wrapped text do?

The optional paragraph setting joins ordinary lines of prose into editable paragraphs. Leave it off when preserving separate lines is more useful. Review unusual columns, lists and page breaks after conversion.

Can I convert only part of a PDF to Word?

Limit conversion to the chapters or pages needed in Word.
