Questions

What is a WebP file?

WebP is an image format many websites use because the files are small. Some older apps and forms do not accept it, so JPG is safer for sharing.

Can I convert an animated WebP?

Only the first frame is saved, as a still JPG.

Should I pick JPG or PNG for a WebP image?

JPG for photos, because the files are small. PNG if the WebP has see-through areas you want to keep.

Are my WebP images uploaded to convert them?

No. Your browser converts them on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
