The requested size is an aim, not a guarantee. Large image files may stay above it even after compression. Stronger compression can make images noticeably softer; review the preview.

Tests covered 1,000 simple text pages and generated image PDFs up to 200 MB. Large files may use the full search time and remain above your target.

Tested in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. Large-file checks used a 100 KB target.

Questions

Can every PDF fit within 2 MB?

No. A long document or an already small file may not fit within 2 MB. You get the smallest checked result, and the page tells you if it missed the target.

Will compressing to 2 MB turn my text into a picture?

No. Selectable text is kept. Pictures may be resized, saved at lower quality or turned grey. Your original file is not changed.

What if a large scan stays above 2 MB?

Turn on “Use stronger compression” and try again. If it is still too big, split the PDF and send the parts, or remove pages you do not need.

How do I check a PDF reduced to 2 MB?

Open the result preview to compare the original and the result side by side. Check small print and important numbers before you use the file.
