ICICI Bank statement PDFs usually open with an eight-character password: the first four letters of your name in lowercase, followed by your date and month of birth as DDMM. Sujit, born on 5 January, would type suji0501. Some account statement emails ask for your account number instead, and the email says so. If a lender or accountant needs a copy without a password, save one with Unlock PDF on your own device.

Work out your password

ICICI Bank states this rule for credit card e-statements in its credit card FAQs: the first four letters of your name as printed on the card, in lowercase, then your date and month of birth in DDMM format, with no spaces or special characters. ICICI's help centre gives the same rule for savings account e-statements, using the first four letters of the account name. For a joint account, use the first account holder's name and birth date.

Name Date of birth Password
Sujit Sawant 5 January suji0501
Priya Nair 23 November priy2311
Ravi Kumar 9 March ravi0903

Only the day and month go in the password, not the year. Use lowercase letters, and add a leading zero to days and months below 10.

If the name rule doesn't work

  • Read the email that came with the statement. Some account statement emails ask you to type your 12-digit account number instead, and the subject line shows its last digits as a hint.
  • Check how your name is printed on the card or in the account. A shortened or initialled name changes the first four letters.
  • If none of these opens the file, contact ICICI Bank customer care. Unlock PDF can't open a statement without the right password.

Save a copy without the password

  1. Open Unlock PDF and choose your statement. It stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
  2. Type your password in PDF password.

Questions

Does the ICICI statement password use my birth year?

No. ICICI's rule uses only your date and month of birth, as four digits in DDMM format, after the first four letters of your name.

Can localipdf find my ICICI statement password for me?

No. Unlock PDF needs the correct password and does not guess or crack it. Use the rule above, or ask ICICI Bank if it doesn't work.

Is my ICICI statement sent anywhere when I unlock it?

No. Unlock PDF runs in your browser on this device, so the statement never leaves it. You can check this yourself on the verify page.
